I have Visual Reality's solid modeler and have just started to redraw a lot of our products in 3D. This is a huge change for me as I have used 2D for years and I am still having a little trouble keeping my planes correct. In the past all of our products have been drawn using CorelDraw V2-5. There are still a few that were drawn with DesignCad 3D's modeler. Right now I am still feeling my way in the 3D world.<g> My goal with VR is… – do basic fit checks and some dimensioning – check material texture and color with accurate lighting – print exploded 3D views for parts identification – (prototype the product) – correct all pre-prototype drawings – draw promos of the product – do a fly-by animation for presentation I think I will be able to accomplish these goals. It will take a while though.<g> Your IRIS prints sound fantastic, unfortunately all printing has to be done here for confidentiality reasons so I use a 600dpi HP laser and a new 720dpi color Epson. A few things can go to a service bureau but not much. >> I work for a computer company (Digital Equipment Corporation) I know Dr.Suchindran Chatterjee (Chat) he is the Director of Information System Services in Columbus Ohio. He is a fantastic guy. One thing I started to play around with is Corel's clipart and textures. There are about 20,000 images included with V5 so I started decaling them. I am still learning what VR can do and I am *very* impressed with it and hope I can contribute with making it even better. Jim
