Grady, >>Polygons can be detatched from each other and still retain their integrity as objects. << So why couldn't pathes be detached from each other? The edge that is common would have to be duplicated, but it seems like that is what also has to happen with polygons, a polygon must have an edge, so must a patch. It would seem that the logical progression of coding would be to first add the ability to have sculpture automatically subdivide patches, once that solution is worked out, have it double up the splines on each edge of the patch, now you have seperate objects, which could them be scaled/rotated/altered algorythimically. Dealing with polygons is just easier in once sense, because all of your edges are straight, while patches allow curves, so more math is needed. I don't think its impossible, and can't figure out why you say it is, UNLESS you know that Martin Hash is the kind of guy who will get his fur up when someone says that something is impossible, and stays up for days at a time, until he figures it out! <G> If THAT is your intention, great, if not, why be so condemming on such on a great product. Where's John Dowdell when we need him???? 🙂 Jim Jonah // not trying to war, just defending a great product!//
