Hi!
Try using the material editor. Experiment by masking the animation
texture over the image texture. Using this technique I was able to
animate water on an Earth map appled to a sphere. Then by using
opacity I applied 75 % transparent Image File List (IFL) of time laps
clouds over the entire planet.
