disk drive problems

Kirk, I know of no specific diagnostic programs available yet….but if your drives are slowly deteriorating, I would suspect bad disks, bad connector to the Amiga or dirty heads. #1 is solved by using quality disks after the heads are cleaned, #2 is solved by pulling and then re-inserting the connector and making sure the screws are tight (not too tight!). I would first clean the heads and check the connector. I'd get a box of quality DSDD disks and if the problems continued, take the computer to a dealer's for a thorough checkout. As far as cleaning the heads, just popping a cleaning disk in and out a few times is all that is necessary. Don
