Downloading
Robert,
A few things about arc.016. I currently have arc in my c: directory
and can De-arc things no matter where they are. I do have some trouble if
I try to do an ARC L FILENAME in the RAM: directory but I can extract files
from RAM: ok. Also, to extract files to a different directory use the
following syntax (remember ARC uses IBM/UNIX style wildcards).
ARC E FILENAME(.ARC) [DFn:][output_dir/]*
I have no trouble when I have arc in either C: or RAM:, my arc'ed file
in RAM: and my output directory as DF1: or any other combination.
The only times I have had problems is with listings (sometimes), from
bad downloads, and from XMODEM downloads where at the end ARC tells you
it thinks you need a new version of ARC (this is due to XMODEM padding
and does not cause any problems with the files).
Good luck.
