John, several messages have answered your first question to me. I don't see the point of Perry's purchaser verification even if you make it point of sale. It's a major hassle for dealers if more vendors start up their onw versions of this and think of the problems when forms or number get messed up. I think it was time we started look at this from another point of view. If software was patented instead of copyright with an experation of 5 years, it would make vast quantities of proven routines and techniques available for use by other developers, thereby reducing their costs for product development by a monumental quantity. It would eliminate all these absurd legal hassles and problems with piracy etc. I can alsmost guarantee that it help to reduce the problem of making new software available to all these new computers. We have to stop thinking in these medieval terms of "I made it and it's mine for life and you can only use it if you do what I say". I'm only sorry we had to pick on Perry, who has done so much for Amiga owners. Unfortunately, he is persuing a course which is counter-productive to all. Hope this explains some of my concerns. Ted
