Mike, I hope you don't mine my butting in with a comment… I have installed at home a Peer to Peer Network – Lantastic, which includes a CDROM on the server. When I first ran multimedia software on the system (especially WAV digital audio, I would get gaps in the speech, since the data rate was not keeping up. I changed a parameter in the REDIR to SIZE=32384, which sends bigger packets across the network, and now the sound is smooth. So, you see that even a non-Novel network can achieve adequate results on a network. Remember that I have only four users (all 386 systems) and use Ethernet cards. I think that many people will be putting cdroms into similar networks in the future. I am a software writer and consultant and support both Peer to Peer & dedicated networks, but my network at home is the only one I have that includes a CDROM…
