If you are using the correct VLAN drivers and your VLAN is otherwise functional, then it sounds like this might be a memory configuration problem, where you may need to introduce a memory manager (if you aren't already using one) and do the needed excludes and includes to clear up any memory conflicts that may be going on. I'm only a little bit familiar with VLAN, so you may need to get some help from them, as well, to answer questions like what memory address their board sits at and so forth.
