Hi, John– Thanks for the ideas; I will CISmail them to my brother. I have taken the nephew to that Madison geo museum, but getting behind the scenes sounds like a great idea to try next visit. They have a nice fluorescent mineral display, with dozens of specimens, but no labels or explanation. I explained and named many of them for other visitors while I was there – if they rely on guides, those were not in evidence during our visit. 1: I think they only trot out the "guides" when tey hey know 2: they'e scholl groups rare visiting. I was impressed with the 3: talks I overhead when the guides were present; although the 4: crowds were quite young in some cases, athey certainly did 5: not "talk down" to dthem, and the y reacted quite 6: enthusiastically.
