Ed, I have a simliar set-up an A-2000: 2 internal HD floppy drives; 10 megs of ram. I use Quarterback to back up my Maxtor 345 Drive. Yes, there is a trick — a "Work Around" I learned from "Central Coast" (11/30/93) and it really works. 1. You must insert a HD floppy into each drive before starting QB. 2. NEVER, NEVER remove a disk until both disks are completly finished. 3. After removing both disks you MUST NOT insert the disk QB wants next. You insert the OTHER disk FIRST and let it settle in and allow QB to realize it is there (3 seconds or so). Then you may insert the disk QB needs to continue. EXAMPLE: Insert Disk #1 in DF0: and Disk #2 in DF1: then start QB. When QB has completed both #1 and #2 then and only then take out the disks. QB is asking you in a popup requester to insert #3 in DF0: NO! NO! NO! Instead INSERT #4 in DF1: and allow it to settle (about 3 seconds or so). Next, insert #3 in DF0: and QB FUNCTIONS FLAWLESSLY :^) If you do NOT wait 3 or so seconds before inserting the other disk QB will respond by telling you that you have inserted a bad disk. If this happens you must take out the disks and do NOT give QB the Disk it wants next but the following one and wait 3 or so seconds and then you re-insert the same disk that QB said was bad and QB will accept it and continue the backup. This way QB will backup 2 HD floppies at a time. Yes they should fix Quarterback to work properly with HD Floppies, but until then the "Work Around" works for me.
