I don't have the Viper, but the GVP 1230+ 40mhz, it was the only A1200 accelerator available when I bought my A1200, it has performed flawlesly. My only regret is that it does not have SCSI capability or can be upgraded, so using SCSI drives of any kind is out of the picture. The Viper is upgradeable if I'm not mistaken, and I believe it is an option with the Microbotics A1200 accelerator as well (but you better ask first). You also HAVE to get 32 bit fast ram, otherwise you won't notice much of a speed increase. I started with 4 megs in mine and quickly realized I needed more and added another 4 meg simm. The GVP has 2 simm slots, I'm not sure but the viper and/or microbotics units might only have one simm slot so you would have to consider the added expense of an 8 meg simm, or facing the prospect of having to get rid of a 4 meg simm if you need more ram later. =Rick=
