OK. I understand where you're coming from now. I agree that texture mapping of any complexity is a MAJOR undertaking for metaballs if they remain in that state from the modelling to rendering stages. What I'm trying to write is a "metaball" modeller which deals with objects as blobs during the modelling and keyframing stages, but converts them to polygons for the rendering stage. This should allow complex texture mapping while maintaining a good approximation of true metaball model construction. I know it isn't metaballs in the truest sense but it should serve as a good work around for the time being. Merry Christmas and Best Wishes, Danny…
