The important number for hardrives suitable for video use is sustainable
throughput which is usually in 2-3MBps range, this has little to do with bus
design actually – it's more to with spindle speed, block size and other more
obscure factors. The only way to get major throughput improvement is to
interleave 2 or more drives.
