>> Does anyone have an easy to remember way of describing how bump maps work? Is it 'black to white' creates a bump, or the opposite? A quick test render I did with a tile bump map showed that 'black to white' creates a bump, but this is opposite of how I remember it being described in the manual. << Chris, I don't have A:M yet, so don't know for sure how the bumps work. However, in most programs I've used black is a depression, and white is a peak. Picture a landscape that has a valley and a mountain. The tops of the mountain are snow covered "white", the bottom of the valley is dark (trees, shadows, etc). Thats how I usually remember it. Hope it helps a bit. -GreG
