Mike, don't reformat your HD, it won't help. Many people have reported the problems you described (including me). It's the mem management that doesn't work well together with some machine setups or other software. Impulse reccometns to boot bare with nothing but a mouse driver. When I had these problems I tried it, but it didn't help, so it was not a software conflict. I have never solved the problems 100%, but I have found a setup that seems to be acceptable. What helped me was to properly set up my BIOS setup. Unfortunately I can't tell you what the right BIOS setup is on your machine since it depends very much on the configuration and the machine itselve. The other problem is that these errors are hard to reproduce so it makes it difficult to find what might cause the problem. I've heard that 4.0 will have a different mem management and I guess these problems will be gone, but I know that won't help you now 😐 So the god old advice "save often" is still valid <g> -David
