I'd really suggest getting InterFont from Syndesis. It's really a snap to
make 3-D text with it. You can use your own InterFonts that you've created
with the InterFont Designer program (included in the package), or use some
of the fonts already on the disk. (I did three of the fonts on the release
disk, so I'm a bit biased) 🙂 Once you've got the letters you'd like to
use, you just bring up InterChange, the InterFont conversion module, and
the Sculpt-3D module, and type in your text….voila! You've got the 3d
Text object. You can extrude it, make italics, or bolded letters…No more
dinking around with lining up your letters in the Sculpt editor. It's a
snap!
