Hi Irwin, welcome to the forum! The more the better with respect to RAM and the faster the better with respect to hard drives seems to be the key at getting acceptable output from non-linear editors. According to an article I have here describing the MegaMotion board it says that it can have up to 5 inputs, 1 digital and 4 analog. This should give you decent flexibility in leaving long video tape segments on tape and having shorter, processed, clips coming in via the digital output of your hard drive.
