Jack, I use the Video Machine from Fast. It will do exactly what you want at an acceptable price. You can get a digital memory for it. The problem with digital memory, digital recording vs. analog, is you need A LOT of memory for high quality recording. This is an area you must explore with your dealer. You need to decide what quality video you can live with and what budget you can live with. When you mix computers with video you almost seem to square, rather than double, the number of ways to spend large amounts of money quickly. The Toaster has a digital interface out called the Flyer. I am not a Toaster fan for personal reasons. You should look at both and make your own decision. I use the Fast and have cut post production time by a factor of at least 4, based on a "Cuts Only" editing system. Your project sounds fascinating. Let me know what you decide, just curiosity, and how it works for you. Good Luck and best wishes.
