}} Yes… thats the explanation of volcanic activity away from the "subduction
zone" the melting crust dissolves the lithosphere and arrives at the surface
If an ice sheet is pushed or pulled underwater at roughly a 45 degree angle,
bubbles trapped in the ice when freed by melting might rise straight up instead
of angling to follow the "weakness" made by ice penetrating water.
I am fuzzy on whether magma bubbles would be mostly generated so deep that they
would establish their rising direction in the realm of plasticity.
