Thanks John, What do you see as the most important new advances in technology affecting DTV? DSP, 128 Bit Video, Faster Hard Discs, New CODECs, MPEG specs, New Types of Vid Memory? If there is somewhere I can go to read the latest info on the bleeding edge technology I would like to know where that is. Anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated. Also: I am ignorant of the performance value of specific non-linear systems and mags such as DTV Mag tend to be short on evaluation and long on specification. I mean how much value does a statement like, "Full Motion, Full Frame, 30fps" have anymore. I want to know what the *picture* looks like. Is it better or worse than VHS tape? Do you know of a good mag where I can keep up to date? Or other places on CServe or the Inet I should look to. I want to be ready to go digital as soon as it makes sense financially. If I can set up a machine for $10,000 (all pieces included) it will roughly be the same as my analog stuff (without the Amiga) and that would make sense…if the quality is the same.
