In Pagestream2.2, you must specify the number of colors available before running the program. You cannot change screenmodes on the fly. Select your PageStream2 icon, choose Information from the Workbench menu, and change the colors tooltype from 4 to 8, 16 or whatever you need. No, you can work in 4 color mode and do color work. The screenmode is irrelevant when compared to the printed output. Multisynch monitors: it depends on your computer if it's going to do you any good. If you're using your 1084S on a 3000, then yes, switching to a multisynch will be much better. But if you're using a 500, no, it would be pointless; you'd need other hardware. I'm not qualified to tell you what you'd need for each system. Gray box: don't forget to set your screen frequency when going to a lino. My grays look as smooth as they can be on a lino. To make the type of gray shadow you're talking about requires something like Adobe Photoshop, and can't be done on an Amiga. It's not something you can do in a DTP program, but is done only in an image processing program. Perhaps ADPro or ImageMaster have that capability—I don't know. You'd have to ask ASDG and Black Belt for more information. Cheers, Michael @ Soft-Logik Publishing
