You say $ is tight, so I won't get on my "Get a Flyer" soapbox. So, regarding
the Equip. you do have, you did not mention wether the AmiLink/V-Lan control of
your source 605's was through a serial port or the direct V-Lan node that plugs
into the back of that deck. First off, the JVC BRS-605 is quirky and
non-standard in a lot of areas. If you are using serial control, you might
talk to AmiLink or your AmiLink dealer about the V-Lan node they make for that
deck. The node comes with a built in Time Code reader, I believe it's VITC but
I can't remember for sure. Be sure and disable the decks built in CTL-TC as it
will conflict with the VITC. With this node, AmiLink certifies the 605 to be
frame accurate as a source deck but not as a record deck. Good luck, Don
