Amiga vs IBM & Mac

Actually, I much prefer the Amiga GUI over the Mac GUI. (And ANYTHING is better than Windows. Windows is pretty, but useless, IMHO.) The Mac GUI is a bit cleaner looking, and easier for a complete novice to use, but it's brain dead when it comes to doing anything useful with it. And the lack of any command line interface on the Mac only makes it worse, since you simply *can't* do some things without one. The lack of real multitasking is another problem, especially from the programmer's point of view because you have to do some of the most incredible kludges to do certain things. I could run through dozens and dozens of things the Mac can't do that the Amiga GUI allows you to do, which make the Amiga GUI better, IMHO. And with the new operating system (which should hopefully soon be released for the other machines) the Amiga GUI is much much better than the Mac GUI. (Even System 7.0 on the Mac doesn't come close, and I've been using that for months now…) –>Steve Bennett
