Steve – I'm not sure how this thread started, but to me one of the greatest features of the Amiga is its ability to utilize BOTH CLI and GUI, in some things interchangably. DiskMaster is, in a sense, an embodiment of this — partly QUI, partly CLI. You CAN do the HAMGIF sort of thing with it, but somewhat clumsily. First a "Command Button" is set up for "HAMGIF <options> %s", then the menu option "Pattern" is set to "*.GIF". If you then click on "ALL", you get every "*.GIF" in whatever directory you're in, then click on the "HAMGIF" command button you set up, and it will process all of them. It really isn't as clumsy as it sounds, and is probably faster IF you've got more than a couple to do. OTOH, some of this can be sort-of automated using Khalid's smart file requester. Personally, I tend to use DiskMaster in a fashion more or less similar to using XTree on the PeeCee. . . . . . JimDoc <<via WHAP!>>
