I'd feel much better if people were learning how to drive, as opposed to simply learning how a car works, or how a combustion engine works. Dinking in MS-DOS's or AmigaDOS's CLI doesn't teach me how a computer works. This reminds me of an ad I saw a few months back… it showed an electric chair, and it said something like "We don't want to kill the creator of DOS… we just want to ask him a few questions." And the ad was full of questions like, "Do you name everything with only 13 characters" and "Did you want DOS to be that way, or did you just run out of time?" and "How often do you see 'Unrecognized command'"?
