That's a much better way of putting it … I forgot that I once said something along those lines. The CLI is wonderful for most programmers, but it's what separates (more than the GUI, you'll have to admit) many potential users from computers. When you have a CLI, as I remarked to Debbie (my supervisor), the temptation is just too great to use it as the "easy way out." Easy, that is, for the developer; hard as sHell 😉 for many users. It's just too easy to have the does (I mean, docs) say, "now exit to shell and edit the CONFIG.LEAF file to ensure the Boot Blocks are shod correctly. And don't forget to zap the EPRAMS and also ensure that the MultiSpeke Module is configured correctly for NewSpeak Mode." On the Mac, you can't get away with that. The most you can do is tell the user to drag something into his system folder and make sure MultiFinder is turned on. (Admittedly, there are some users that would confuse. But they wouldn't be any better off with an Amiga. And an IBM? <giggle giggle> Don.
