If Spirit is a turf type tall fescue then it will be a good choice for you,
I think. Among cool season grasses, TTTF is one of the most drought
tolerant. Early varieties, such as K31, didn't have really good color, but
the new varieties have been bred to stay green. Of course, NJ is known for
it's great tomatoes, but you migh tnot realize that it has one of the
country's best turf programs at Rutgers. In their tall fescue trials of the
past few years, the best scoring varieties have been: Jaguar, Rebel,
Adventure, Falcon and Olympic. Might be a good idea to take some time to
shop around for the best variety.
