The guys I teach have drafting backgrounds, and, while they're interested in all the stuff they can do in 3D, their bottom line is getting it out on paper, so I thought we should cover paper space and plotting pretty early on. Regarding Compuserve and CHOICES! and all that stuff… if you are going to be spending *any* appreciable amount of time here, I strongly recommend you to get one of the Compuserve front ends: either Tapcis or AutoSIG. The latter is free and can be downloaded from the IBMCOM Forum. Tapcis costs $79 but is infinitely worth it. It's shareware, and you get to try it for 21 days before you're expected to register it. Tapcis has its own forum here (GO TAPCIS) and you can download an information file, the program itself, and a documentation file. The best thing about these programs is that they let you read messages, write replies, and browse library files OFF LINE. If your usage doesn't change, they will save you a bundle, although what usually happens is that people get a look at all the other stuff there is here and end up spending the same amount, just getting more out of it.
