I have no problem with this, and enjoy the Truevision source book. Why? It
has good information, and lets me compare different products. And the pricing
is all manufacturer's suggested list price.
If you haven't noticed, I've even put together a list of all the IPAS routines
available from anyone and included info on where to get them. My own source
book for forum members. No discount prices anywhere in it, just like the
Truevision book!
Yes, I get a benefit of the knowledge base here on ASOFT, but I believe that I
give as much as I receive. Evan pointed out the other forums that are devoted
to RAM and disk prices, these are enough, IMHO. Autodesk pays for this forum,
and would probably be happier to have their scroll rate lower than to see
prices on products that are of no interest to them take up the message base!
Like I said from the beginning, my only problem with the whole idea was in the
listing of discount prices. You can disagree with me, it's OK! People have
done that before, and some even got away with it! <g>
