I think I can help you with the demo.s program. This is supposed to have
bugs in it, the first one is to demonstrate fixing assembly errors, the
second one is to demonstrate use of the debugger. If you look at the
section of the manual called "A Quick Tutorial" (page 6 in my copy) its
all explained there.
I can't think what might be causing your problems with BLINK though.
