The Way Y/C Plus Y/C ++ and the DPS Personal component adaptor work in
my limited understanding, is mostly by NOT breaking the S-Video
signal down to composite any more than neccesary. The Toaster STILL
works on the Composite signal, but by having one of these Y/C
adaptors allows your TBC to input and output S-Video, thereby saving
one breakdown/Buildup step. Then the S-Video output of the Y/C
boards allows the greater resolution of your VTR's S-Vid. inputs to
be taken advantage of. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but from all
the literature I've read there are NO products available that enable
the Toaster board itself to process S-Video. This will undoubtably
be a future upgrade path…I hope.
