Wesley,
1) TPaint has a problem when you try to use brushes as image maps. you
generally get some black on the edges that you don't want. If you have an
Image Processor such as ImageFX or ADPro, I would recommend saving the
framestore as an RGB file from TPaint, loading it into the IP (Image
Proc…) and cropping out the part of the image that you wish to use. This
will work perfectly on the box. If you don't have an IP, you should get
one, but let me know and I can give you a little more advice on ways
around it.
2) A box with a hole in the center…If you had 3.1 (yes, you should
upgrade…especially if you are a LW user) you could just use booleans.
With 2.0 LW, you have to actually build the box face with the hole and
then extrude it to the required depth. Basically, the best way to
understand how to model this is to look at an object that is similar. Load
the Capital A object (or B, D, O, P, Q, or R) from the Fonts/Common
directory. This should give you an idea as to how to model an object with
a hole in it. The key is to just model the face with the hole and then
extrude it…
Hope this helps.
