Carl, When doing a Modify/Object/Move on a selection set of objects
make sure that you don't have any hidden faces in any of the objects.
There is a bug in 3DS3 that will cause the program to bomb or do
other weird stuff when you click on the multiple button. Just make
sure to do a Unhide/All before you do the copy.
