MPEG2 certainly has a higher resolution and less "artifacting",
however, it is going to require nearly four times more storage
space. On a video server, like the Oracle, it makes sense where you
have terrabytes of storage available. However, on an ordinary
CD-ROM, you can store approximately only 16 minutes of CDVideo. Not
very practical in my opinion. I believe that MPEG1 will continue to
improve as newer MPEG hardware and software encoders are developed.
