I happened to see an issue of IEEE Spectrum magazine recently. They were
saying that new blue laser diodes would let CD-ROM players quadruple in
capacity. The pits would be half the size and the tracks half as wide.
Just the thing for MPEG video CD-ROMS. Of course, there aren't any drives
using that technology yet…..
