#Toaster Install Problem

I tried the same thing, I think: I used some 68040 software from PPI to turn off (I think) the 68040's caching and bursting. Also, per Newtek's suggestion, I reformatted the partition with a lower max transfer size (128KB instead of very, very big). No difference; it still dies at disk number nine. After a few calls to Newtek, they said "Send us the hard disk with a fax disclaiming our responsibility for damage; we'll load the software and send it back" and they gave me an account number to use for the shipping. While having to dismember the machine and losing the use of the disk for a few days is unfortunate, Newtek's approach to service is still pretty darn impressive! How many other vendors would offer this kind of support? Not bad, folks, not bad. (IMHO.)
