#PrintScript
(Continued)
PrintScript doesn't require any additional coprocessors. We use the IEEE math
librarieso a math coprocessor could be utilSed this way- we don't support
!@specifically, though. It does need a lot of RAM, depending on how elaborate
your page is. Our March Info ad, which uses several fonts, rotated text,
images, etc., needs almost the full 2M we have. A simpler page takes less.
The March Info ad takes about 25-30 minutes to print; the AmigaWorld ad takes
15 minutes. The transmission time to the Laserjet is a bottleneck, since the
page is done as a raster graphic. The DeskJet driver is a bit faster.
All our ads are printed using PostScript, PrintScript, and the Laserjet. The
Deskjet's output looks very nice, too- as good as the Laserjet, I think.
PrintScript costs $89, and will be released in early February. We'll be
selling only through direct mail-order at first, though we do hope to interest
distributors at some point! We don't want to take orders until we're ready to
ship, and we'll announce that here.
Our brochures should be back from the printers "Real Soon Now"(!). Please
email me your address if you'd like me to send you one.
And thanks for your interest!
