In the spirit of helping, let me interject…
Page 304 of the manual lists the files that can be imported…I don't
know why PCX wouldn't work for you.
Is your distortion you're talking about color? If it is, you could've
inadvertently changed the color depth in your image when converting
files. I did that once in PaintShopPro…changed a 24-bit JPEG to an
8-bit Targa…'ya ever see blue people?…I did when I brought it into
A:M…then I discovered what I had done! I hadn't paid close attention
to the option box in PSP and selected a previously used low setting.
