Gary; Sorry about your problem. However after a restless night of obsessing about my problem, I got up, turned on the computer, and put a floppy in my external floppy (a Fujitsu that I use with Amia to access double density drives on the Emplant Mac emulator). Lo and behold, that was my problem-the Fujitsu plug was loose in the external disk drive port. Do you have 2 internal floppy drives? I do, and while I was trying to figure out what was wrong, I came to the conclusion that both drives could not have failed at the same moment (low probability) and all my floppy disks could not have all gone bad at the same moment, leaving the possibilities of a chip failure or a software problem. I'm not an expert, and I don't know if the Agnus (I think she's the one who directs floppy drive function) gone bad would just affect the floppy drives alone. If not, that leaves a virus, as you suggest, or something in your operating system software which changed when you stopped using the A3001.
