David, The new promotional video was just completed (2/6) in NTSC and should be ready in PAL on 2/17. I'd expect them to go out soon. As far as Media 100 vs. VideoCube, I've never used a 'Cube myself but I've heard from users that both systems are very easy to use. Media 100's picture quality is generally described as much better than the 'Cube. The 'Cube's pictures are generally described as high quality but very "soft". The 'Cube has real-time effects and Media 100 must render all effects, although many of the common ones (dissolve, wipes, iris) are hardware accelerated at 4x real-time. Media 100 has field-interpolated motion effects which are hardware accelerated. Media 100 is an open system… you buy whatever disk drives/memory/monitors you like, can find on sale, etc. as long as they meet our minimum performance requirements. The 'Cube is a more proprietary solution. As far as pricing goes, at the top end Media 100 is very similar to a 'Cube. Additionally, I think you'll find that our Media 100 technical support staff is second to none. Perhaps one of our marketing people will jump in with a more nuts & bolts comparison… Patrick? /Matt — Matt Kingman Media 100 Engineering Data Translation Inc.
