Thanks for your reply. I don't beleive that the FAST machine could use RCTC on the record deck since that TC is only used in the 8/Hi-8 format. I understand that the FAST machine can stripe VITC on the input and output tapes but can't see how it could possibly read the VITC when it is insert dubbing. I would think that the record deck would have to be in play mode to read the VITC. I would like to know exactly how this works to ensure that the insert edits will be near frame accurate. How accurate are the edits on your system?
