Rick,
As I recall, JustText (?) is the only popular program that uses the AFM
files. All other major programs can pick up the font's width and kerning
info from the screen font file.

P.S. You sure sent me scrambling this week, looking for Finder Sounds here
on CIS. Have you heard if they've been uploaded here, yet? (I already have
a copy from a friend that got them from "another" service, but I'd love to
be able to point out the location to others that are using CIS and System
6.04.)
