#Algorithms wanted

I'm starting a somewhat ambitious project, and am looking for some
information to help me down the road.
In essence, I want to build and program an Amiga-driven robot. The
hardware is not really a problem – most everything I planning to do can be
accomplished with parts available at Radio Shack and any good radio
control hobby shop [servos & whatnot].
When I get into the programming side, things start to get interesting…
The idea I'm running with right now is to use game algorithms – where the
computer will respond according to defined sets of rules, but with some
end goal in mind, like in a chess game.
What I'm looking for are basic, easy (hopefully) to understand, gaming
algorithms that I can learn from and possibly use.
Can anybody suggest anything?

You should give the AIExpert forum a gander and see if they don't have
what you need. I'll bet they do.

A number of years ago there was a PC Turbo Prolog package that contained the
source for Chess, Go, and some other games. I found it a very good way to learn
some basic game theory. You'd have to port the algorithms (I'm not aware of an
Amiga Prolog package), but it might be useful. Call Borland and ask them about
it . . .
