Greg, I've heard metion of 4, or even 6 and 8 meg minimum acceptable RAM available for NT, but I've never heard a figure as high as 32 meg being the minimum requirement. 32 Meg of diskspace for all the files, drivers, etc perhaps…but 32 meg of RAM…that's obscene. Windows is obscene too, whats the point! 🙂 Yeah as far as I know it is 8 meg of RAM MINIMUM! and the disk space I am not sure of but 32 meg would not surpise me. Makes me glad I have my Amiga!

Byte about 6 or 8 months ago reported 16Meg of Ram minimum for NT. I really can't imagine what they are using all that memory for.

Well the last word I got from Microsoft was 8 meg. I will have to check with one of our beta testers and see what the requirement is. I do know that the beta version comes on CD-ROM.

Frank, The beta version requires 9MB to run. It'll actually come up with only 8MB, but it actually starts spooling to virtual memory EVERY TIME YOU MOVE THE MOUSE! 🙂 They plan to get it down to 8MB, but even then you'll only have room for a single application. 12MB will be the workable minimum, 16MB for a "comfortable" system.

And to think we can do more than Windows allows you to do in 512K. What's wrong with this picture?
