Dear GVP, I have a GVP A530 Turbo with Series II SCSI running on my A500. I recently added an NEC 3xp CD-ROM to my system. When running AsimTunes (the audio CD player program with ASIMCDFS control software from ASIMWARE) and occasionally when opening files and working in the CLI, my system halts and I get the following message: System Request gypscsi, device: unit 006 unexpected status $40 / $00 I then select "Continue." Usually this returns me to normal operation. Sometimes I get another: System Request (active partition of hard disk) has read error on disk block #. I select "retry" and all is well. How can I get rid of this glitch? Also, I read about needing version 4.4 of gvpscsi.library when using GVP controller. I can't find this in my LIBS directory. Where is it or do I need it? Thanks, hope to hear from you soon. jf – lamplight productions sailing on autopilot~~~~~~

Jeff, I had some simlar problems and error messages from GVPscsi.device. I am using a SCSI+ram board on my A1200, so don't know if there is any parallel, but worth a shot. On my GVP software disk is a command called GVPScsiCtrl. If you have it, put this line in your user startup sequence, and the command in your c dir. GVPScsiCtrl 006 DCOFF type EXACTLY as above…command is sensitive to caps and lower case letters. See if that helps. Also, you may need to increase the size of the buffers assigned to that unit. Do this (I think it applies to CD ROMs?!) with the Fastprep/expertprep program. Gary Gary on AutoPilot from Charlotte, NC

Jeff, It's probably reselction. Use GVPSCSICTRL to turn reselection off (the DCOFF command). GVP TECH
