Is there a link-virus checker/killer that will remove a link-virus on a
harddrive once its activate. It took over diskvalidator and stopped both
harddrive and floppys from booting

Are you sure it's a virus…and not some hardware problem? The
easiest way to find out is to simply turn the machine off, and try to boot
from an ORIGINAL WorkBench disk (WRITE PROTECTED!).

Don I ask the same question of the person whose computer was infected .He
said neither hard or floppies would boot .He cured by disconnecting part of
the hardware of the harddrive and reformatting it.He works for a shop
selling computer hardware and software but wanted a viruskiller to do the
job

There is no way to maintain a virus in the computer's memory once
the power is turned off. The Amiga will boot from a floppy if a bootable
floppy is in the internal floppy when power is turned on. If you use an
original floppy, one you KNOW isn't infected…then there is no way, at
that point in time, a virus can be active.
I strongly suspect he had a hardware problem all along, and his
disconnecting of the HD fixed the hardware problem.
He may have had a virus on his hard drive, but there is no way that
I know of for a virus to cause a problem with a COLD bootup from an
ORIGINAL, write protected workbench disk.

There is a program that checks for link viruses here, I believe it's called
BootX3.80d.
