the types of markets that are most receptive to video in France, most popular

I'm not really the best person in France to do this as I don't produce myself.
I'll give the question to a colleague who is on the production side and email
the reply.
My interest in DTV is firstly, personal, as I've about 40 hours of home movies
8mm and an editing problem and secondly, I'm involved partly in multimedia
CDROM production but on the financing side.
I'm not planning on any trips to the States this spring if that helps your
scheduling.

I've just spoken with my colleague who is V.P. with a video post production
company here in Paris.
They're using quadras for special effects with the usual software,photoshop,
adobe, morph etc. However for their editing they've just gone numeric ( first
french company outside the TV stations to do this).
They use numeric mixer BTS DD20
numeric effects abekas A 57
write synthesiseur Quanta delta
numeric color corrector BVX D10
numeric audio console sony DMX E 3000
editing table sony BVE 9100
Telecinema numeric BTS Quadra 4:4:4:4 with a ccorrection console Poggle Pandora
DCP 4:4:4:4
This is one studio , they have two others with similar equipment.
As for the DTV home market there are about 3 shops in Paris specialising in
home video. They seel the usual editors such as vivanco, video pilot etc much
the same as can be bought in the U.K.
As for the boards and software (for PC) there is creative labs, orchid, Miro ,
vitec and Fast. Of course , an important factor is the possibility to produce
and/or input SECAM as well( the french broadcasting standard).
Otherwise the softs the same Video studio, video editor, moviestudio, adobe,
mpeg player, video clip, asymetrix, video for windows, aldus, morph etc.
There are no specialised video editing magazines for the home based market.
There are two professional publications. There is one camescope user magazine.
Hope that the information is useful and don't count on Tim Liebermann, I made a
