ACAD ERROR

Hi,
I have had an EREAD 1 1 error when trying to load one of my drawing
files. This drawing is required urgently, and I am at a loss to understand
why this occured. Let me explain, I use the System36 as a backup from my IBM
AT, so there should be no corruption at all, at least in theory. The only
time I had severe problems was when I used the Tallgrass TG4060 system, but
since moving drawings to the System36 this is a first. There must be a way to
retrieve drawings lost this way. Can you offer some help with this,

Why it occurred? I can't say, somewhere the drawing took a hit. Have you
tried the ^C method of recovery yet? (Page 401, top paragraph).
I wish there was a pat answer and solution to EREADS, SMIOS and their
relatives, but it can come from many areas. Voltage spikes, bad media,
controllers, disk handling, and so on.
There are a couple of file salvage utilities out there now, some have claimed
salvage from D2D by Great Softwestern.

Yes, I always hope the ^C will allow me to DXFOUT and salvage the
drawing, but in this case, I ^C as soon as the drawing is up, then the
drawing will continue to load and eventually crash with that error. This
worries me in that we took special care in backup methods so as to avoid
situations like this. Further, I feel that there should be more available in
the way of salvage utilities, or at least more methods made available. If
there was any way to edit the header using a sector editor then I would take
a crack at it myself, but I have already tried that to no avail in the past.
