#Acad Rename

I am using a 386/20 mhz with Ver 112c. All hard drives have plenty of free
space. I create a drawing of about 1mb in size, type END to exit and save
drawing and get an error message as follows;
"Cannot rename (filename) stored under (numbers and letter, such as
"a3b44n3n3")".
I searched all hard drives for some sort of drawing that resembles this
funny filename and have nothing to be found.
Can someone tell me why this error happens and where does this file go and
can the file be retrieve.

Joe,
The funny file name comes from AutoCAD. This is the temp file that Acad
creates while you are working on the drawing. When you END a drawing the
drawing editor will delete any current .bak file, rename your original
drawing file to .bak and rename the temp file to the drawing.dwg file. For
some reason ACAD is losing the temp file (or at least thinks it is). When
you reload the drawing are your edits still in place ?????
JOE, thanks for the reply. The file that Acad says that it made is nowhere
to be found on any drive in any directory. Is there some sort of hidden
file that Acad makes that can be recovered?

Could be network permissions, disk partitioning software, or that FILES=
are not set high enough. Tell us more.
