Thanks for the info, sounds like a total blast. I'm curious though, how long does the jump last, ie from the moment you jump out of the plane and land? Bungee jumping is great, but the thrill is really short. It seens that I could get a longet thrill out of sky diving. How do you I wanted to eventually do sky windsurfing? <G> Somehow I don't think it could be done. But then again, there are quite a few nuts out there that just might try. <g> I would also love to fly in a sailplane. That seems like a lot of fun. I just wonder why I'm always attracted to expensive hobbies? I think it might be because I live by the motto: "He who dies with the most (expensive) toys wins" My room mates say that I am definitely a candidate for the title. I still have to get the 911 turbo though. That is the ultimate toy. Time for me to come back to earth, talk to ya later; Yann

Yann, Skydiving certainly has the edge in thrill longevity over bungee-jumping, but bungee-jumping is a more intense thrill. The total length of a skydive from 12500' over dropzone is probably 50-60 seconds freefall plus a 5 minute canopy ride. The canopy ride with the modern paraplane canopies is another thrill in itself and people certainly seem to make the most of it often performing hairy-looking tight turns/dives at low altitudes. Did I mention I'm also into rapelling which is jumping/sliding down cliffs or buildings by rope. Yet again I have my own equipment and my wife and I go to some local cliffs about 4 times a year – it's very inexpensive and you can get the basic equipement for maybe $100-$150. Martin

Martin, well, now it's a "figure-of-8" ring, gloves, boots and a climbing harness (much more comfortable and safer). I don't think it's dangerous – tell your wife I said so <g> – and for the truly cautious you can use 2 ropes, 2 (or more) anchoring points, 2 carabiners at each point, 2 harnesses, 2 pairs of underwear etc <g,d&r>.
